Calf botox in Myeongdong: opening hours, the 15-line calf menu and what to settle first

Abijou Myeongdong is open on Sundays and has no lunch break, which matters if calf botox has to fit a short trip. Its 12 October 2026 body-toxin menu lists 15 calf lines in 50, 100 and 200 units under origin labels [Korean], [Premium Korean], [German], [UK] and [US], one of them a separate [Calf Slimming] [Korean] 200-unit line. Calf botox is botulinum toxin type A in the gastrocnemius; it acts on muscle, not fat, and cosmetic calf use is not a listed indication on the labels checked for this page, so the dose and the decision are the treating doctor's after an in-person assessment.

Can calf botox fit around a short Seoul trip?

Scheduling is the first practical question, because the effect develops over days to weeks and a clinic you can still reach afterwards is worth having. Abijou Myeongdong opens 09:30–20:30 on weekdays and 09:30–18:00 on Saturday and Sunday, with no midday closure, and closes only on public holidays.

  • Say your arrival and departure dates when you book, so the injection and any check-in fit your stay.
  • Book through the Abijou booking centre or the clinic's KakaoTalk channel; WhatsApp is also listed for this branch.
  • Ask how to reach the clinic from home if weakness or a change in your walking appears after you fly.

What do the origin labels on the Myeongdong calf menu mean?

The menu sells calf toxin by units (50, 100 or 200) under five origin labels, plus one line with an extra [Calf Slimming] tag. A label tells you where the product is from as written on the menu; it is not a product name. Units are set by each manufacturer's own potency assay. The U.S. BOTOX label says its units are not interchangeable with other botulinum toxin products, and the Korean records for Nabota and Meditoxin each define their own units.

  • The [UK] label has only 100 and 200-unit calf lines here; there is no 50-unit [UK] calf line in the snapshot.
  • The [Calf Slimming] [Korean] 200-unit line is listed separately from the plain [Korean] 200-unit line, at a different price. Ask the branch what distinguishes the two before you choose.
  • Ask which product sits behind the label you are quoted, and whether the quoted amount covers both legs.
  • Cosmetic calf use has no label dose, so the number of units is the doctor's decision.

What does calf botox act on?

Botulinum toxin type A blocks acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, so an injected muscle contracts with less force. In calf botox the target is the gastrocnemius, the large muscle at the back of the lower leg. That is a mechanism, not a promised result.

  • It does nothing to fat. If a calf looks thick because of fat, bone structure or posture, a muscle-targeted drug will not change that.
  • Which component dominates is something to assess in person, not from a photo.

Is calf botox an approved use?

Not in the records checked for this page. The U.S. BOTOX and BOTOX Cosmetic labels list the approved uses, and cosmetic injection of the calf is not among them; the Korean MFDS records for Nabota and Meditoxin do not list it either. A licensed doctor may use a drug off-label on clinical judgement, so off-label is not the same as illegal, but the U.S. FDA labels and Korean MFDS records checked here do not list this use.

What about walking, downtime and aftercare?

One uncontrolled prospective study followed 15 healthy women for 3 months after gastrocnemius injection. Step length, cadence and walking speed did not change significantly, while dynamic balance-control measures worsened in some phases of gait. With 15 participants and no control group it is not a risk figure for you, but it is a finding specific to the calf.

  • The labels describe the effect over days to weeks, and local reactions such as injection-site pain, bruising and headache.
  • General botulinum toxin guidance from the booking centre's Gangnam page (checked 2026-10-12): redness, swelling or bruising generally ease within 1 to 2 weeks; avoid alcohol, smoking, sauna, massage, jjimjilbang and strenuous exercise for 7 days. This is not a Myeongdong-specific policy.
  • Contact the clinic for severe redness, itching, hives, or weakness that interferes with daily tasks.
  • Difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, drooping eyelids, double vision or generalized weakness are emergencies; the U.S. boxed warning describes toxin effects that can spread hours to weeks after injection.

What should you ask and disclose?

Get the product name, units, target muscle and the injecting doctor in writing, and ask what follow-up is included.

  • The BOTOX Cosmetic label lists two contraindications: hypersensitivity to any botulinum toxin preparation and infection at the injection site.
  • Disclose neuromuscular disease such as myasthenia gravis, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medicines that affect neuromuscular transmission such as aminoglycoside antibiotics, and any earlier toxin injection with its date.
  • Tell the doctor if you run, hike, wear heels or will walk long days on your trip.

Frequently asked questions

Is Abijou Myeongdong open on Sunday for calf botox?

The branch's published hours are 09:30–18:00 on Saturday and Sunday and 09:30–20:30 on weekdays, with no lunch break, and it is closed on public holidays. Confirm that a calf appointment is available on your day when you book.

How much is calf botox at Abijou Myeongdong?

In the 12 October 2026 snapshot the single-session calf lines ran from KRW 31,900 for [Korean] 50 units to KRW 594,000 for [US] 200 units, VAT excluded; the table above lists every line. Ask for a current written quote naming the product and units.

What is the [Calf Slimming] line on the menu?

It is a separate [Calf Slimming] [Korean] Calf Toxin 200-unit line, listed at KRW 97,900 beside the plain [Korean] 200-unit line at KRW 119,900. Ask the branch how the two differ.

Are the [UK] and [US] units the same?

Not necessarily. Units are defined by each manufacturer's potency assay, and the U.S. BOTOX label says its units are not interchangeable with other products. Ask which product is behind each label.

Does calf botox reduce calf fat?

No. It acts on muscle at the neuromuscular junction and does nothing to fat.

Will it affect running or heels?

Raise it before the injection. In one small study of 15 women with no control group, walking speed, cadence and step length did not change at 3 months, but dynamic balance-control measures worsened.

Can I fly home right after?

Reactions such as bruising generally ease within 1 to 2 weeks per the booking centre's general guide, and the effect develops over days to weeks. Agree with the clinic beforehand how to reach it from abroad.

How Abijou works

Abijou started in Gangnam in 2006 and opened the Myeongdong branch in March 2007. Myeongdong is where office workers and visitors to Seoul overlap, and a clinic that only opens on weekday afternoons misses most of both. Running with no lunch break and staying open on Sunday was a decision made for that reason. The line we work to is skin transformation woven into everyday life — care you can keep up with, rather than one dramatic intervention.

  • Opened March 2007 — now one of 17 Abijou branches nationwide
  • Open Saturday and Sunday, and no lunch break on any day of the week
  • We quote the official published price list as it stands
  • Across the 17 branches in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon and Busan: over 1,000 medical professionals and more than 350 certified medical devices
  • Authentic products only, in appropriate amounts — the treatment is fitted to the condition, not to a package
